Allyson Felix

Allyson Michelle Felix was born in Los Angeles on November 18 1985. Paul Felix, her father, was an ordained pastor of Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet elementary school. Felix was aware that she was gifted to run when she was a student at Los Angeles Baptist High School. In only 10 weeks following her first race, Felix placed second in the 200 meters race at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. In 2003, Felix graduated from high school and signed a professional deal with the company that makes sports Adidas prior to matriculating in the University of Southern California where she studied elementary education. Felix was awarded her first Olympic Medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics which took place at Athens Greece. She broke an Junior World Record running 200 metres in 22.18 seconds. She was the youngest participant in the 200-meter race during the World Championships held in Helsinki in 2005. She defended her title once again in 2007, beating her time-tested Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix placed consistently at the top of the podium across her diverse events at the Olympics which took place in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
