Allyson Felix

Allyson Melissa Felix was born in Los Angeles, California on November 18th 1985. Paul Felix, her father was an ordained minister in the Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet school for children in the elementary grades. Felix's athletic talent was apparent from the time she began attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. She came second at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships within just 10 weeks, after the first time she tried out. In 2003 Felix graduated from high school having signed a professional contract with the athletics company Adidas and then enrolled at the University of Southern California where she completed her elementary education. The first Olympic medal came during the 2004 Summer Olympics which took place at Athens Greece. Felix set a world junior record for running 200m in 22.18 secs. At the 2005 Helsinki World Championships, Felix became the youngest winner in the world for the distance of 200 meters. The following year, she won the title against her Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix participated in the Olympics during Beijing London Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo regularly placing in the top three of her races.
